The importance of creating and maintaining interest is because it draws attention to the content, and that attention is necessary for people to learn and retain the information.

To create and maintain interest, we should have clear and specific goals that can help keep adult learners engaged. Also, highlighting the importance of the topic by, for example, creating scenarios to challenge the participants in identifying facts that are relevant to their field, tapping to their experiences. And finally minimizing distractions in the environment will help with keeping the focus.

And to tap into the personal or professional interests of adult learners in my field, I could try to connect training activities to real challenges they face as admin coordinators. For example, allow them to choose scenarios involving student support, class scheduling, or even communication.
